Product Stewardship Committee

Objective: To advocate standards and practices to ensure the safe and environmentally sound manufacture, transportation, and disposal of activated carbon.

Current issues include:

  • Transfer security issues
  • Supply chain security profiles
  • NSF/UL certification services\
  • Insurance programs

Test Methods Committee

Objective: To promote consistent and technically appropriate quality, performance, and testing standards for the safe and effective use of activated carbon.

Recent accomplishments include:

  • Approval of STM 8-04
  • Securing IACMA membership to ASTM, the American Society for Testing of Materials

Information Exchange Committee

Objective: To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among manufacturers, users, suppliers, government agencies, and other related or interested organizations in conformity with all legal requirements.

  • Carbon industry trends in foreign countries
